Skiing is like riding a bike. They say that once you learn, you never forget.
But what they don’t tell you about riding a bike is that even when you know how, mistakes can happen. You may forget to signal turns in traffic. You may neglect your safety gear. Or you may hit a bump in the road that sends you flying over the handle bars.
Skiing is much the same way (minus the handle bars). Once you’ve learned how to ski or snowboard, those skills never truly leave you – but even the best of us have to admit that things can get a little rusty in between seasons. And heck, when life gets in your way and keeps you off the mountain for a while, you might feel totally unprepared to get back out there.
If this sounds like you, don’t worry – we have you covered with the Wachusett Return to Learn to ski or snowboard program.
Sharpen your skills with our programs
Return to Learn to ski or snowboard is a series of programs designed for skiers and snowboarders who need a little help getting back on the slopes. No gear? No problem. The program is simple, providing everything you’ll need to get out on the mountain:
- All-mountain lift ticket
- Group lessons, level 3 and up (approximately 1.5 hours)
- Skiing or snowboarding rental equipment
The course comes in two options, depending on your desired level of training: one-day and three-day programs.
Our one-day program is ideal for those who just need a little push to get back in action. All gear and training is provided, making it perfect for those interested in a short day trip to the mountain.
But for those who really want to take things to the next level, we’d have to recommend the three-day program. Having three days of personalized training can do wonders for your skills, and better yet, you don’t have to plan a long getaway to enjoy the three days of training. Your three lessons don’t need to be on consecutive days; plan the lessons around your schedule and show up at your leisure.
Is Return to Learn the right program for me?
Now, we should point out that the Return to Learn to ski or snowboard program isn’t meant for beginners. It’s a course specifically designed to help established skiers sharpen their skills and return to form. As such, we ask that all Return to Learn applicants be at Skill Level 3, at the minimum.
(Not sure of your skiing skill level? We have a quick guide here that explains the differences.)
If you’re a first-timer just starting out, you’ll have a much better time with one of our beginner packages, perfect for building the fundamental skills you’ll need as you progress in your training. No matter what level you’re at, there’s a program for you at Wachusett.
