The fall festival season at Wachusett has to be one of our favorite times of year. We have a ton of great holiday events lined up over the next few months. Lets dig in, shall we?
Oktoberfest (October 5-6)
Prost! Wachusett’s annual OktoberFest celebration is here! Head to the mountain to get a taste of German culture right here in New England. Try one of our specially-sourced OktoberFest beers, flex your muscles and participate in a keg-tossing contest, or just kick back and enjoy some authentic German music.
And feel free to bring the family! With a great lineup of shows and activities (backed by plenty of our delicious food truck vendors), OktoberFest is a fall festival that has something for everyone.
Columbus Day Sale & Swap (October 10-14)
Welcome to New England’s largest ski and snowboard sale and swap! October is the perfect time to clean out your closet, run through your gear, and see what you’ll need for the upcoming season. Here’s how it works:
- Bring in your gear for a quick quality check and price assessment before the swap begins.
- During sale hours, come by and browse the great selection of new and new-to-you equipment and apparel.
- When your items sell, you’ll receive 100% of the item’s sale amount in Wachusett credit, or 70% via check. This can be applied directly to your Season Pass or MTNside shop purchases.
Tour de France Wine Dinner (October 17)
Wachusett worldwide! Take a taste bud-tingling tour through the vineyards of France with the mountain and enjoy a few fine vintages with fine folks.
Our Tour de France Wine Dinner is a five course fixed-menu, five wine evening extravaganza hosted by Wachusett Mountain and Ruby Wines. Join the director of Ruby Wines for a discussion of fine dining and expert wine pairings while enjoying an unforgettable meal inspired by French cuisine and culture.
Cooking Demo Class (October 24)
Who said Wachusett was a place reserved for outdoor adventures? Reserve your spot as part of this year’s Pampered Chef Cooking Demo Class this fall, and you can add a few mouth-watering anytime foods to your cookbook. Learn how to properly use a number of essential kitchen tools while preparing and cooking an exquisite three-course meal.
Class attendees move from appetizer through main course to dessert with the following delicious dishes:
- Roasted Pepper and Walnut Dip
- Chicken Cacciatore
- Turtle Fudge Skillet Cake
The class is limited to 20 people, so be sure to snag your spot if the menu sounds irresistible!
AppleFest (October 19-20)
AppleFest is one of our most popular fall festivities, giving us a chance to offer some great apple goodies while acknowledging all the hard-working apple growers across New England. You won’t want to miss this one, folks:
- Over 100 craft exhibitors and vendors
- Games and eating contests, including the Great New England Apple Pie Contest
- Live music throughout the weekend
- Activities and entertainment, including magicians, artists, obstacle courses, face painting, pony rides, and more
- Peak fall foliage viewing from the Scenic SkyRide
Great New England Apple Pie Contest (October 19)
Taking place on Saturday, October 19th during our AppleFest celebration, we have the Great New England Apple Pie Contest. This event is always a big hit! Feel free to participate or simply watch in awe as our hungry participants scarf down pie after pie.
This amateur-only contest features two divisions and offers some great prizes for the winners. But it’s not about winning. It’s about fun—which is why all entrants receive complimentary tickets to AppleFest, regardless of how big your appetite is.
Fall Food Truck Festival (November 3)
Let’s get real. The holidays are on their way, which means it’s time to forget that summer calorie-counting and start indulging. And there’s no better way to indulge than the veritable smorgasbord of our Fall Food Truck Festival.
We’d list all the options, but we’d be here all day. Suffice it to say, you won’t be disappointed. We’re talking smoky mountain BBQ. Authentic Mexican tacos. Crispy brick oven pizza. And did we mention the cheesecake, cupcakes, and nearly endless supply of wine and beer? Whatever you choose, you can’t go wrong.
Paint and Be Merry Night (November 20)
Need to let off some creative steam before your busy Thanksgiving plans? Our Paint and Be Merry Night was made for you.
Tickets include all the supplies you’ll need to paint a wonderful holiday sign (or whatever subject you want—we won’t tell). There will also be a cash bar (in case you need a little inspiration) and full access to our summer food menu, giving you the perfect way to relax before the holidays begin.
